RoleDescription:
This full-time, on-site teaching role is located in Roanoke Rapids, NC, and includes instruction in Math 1, 2, and 3, as well as Earth and Environmental Science, Biology, and Physical Science. The educator will plan and deliver standards-based lessons, assess student progress, and provide differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs. Daily responsibilities include maintaining accurate records, collaborating with colleagues on curriculum and interventions, and communicating regularly with families and support staff to promote student success.
The teacher will create a safe, inclusive classroom environment, integrate technology and hands-on activities, and participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school events as part of the broader learning community.
- Strong content knowledge and instructional skills in secondary mathematics (Math 1–3) and high school science (Earth and Environmental, Biology, Physical Science).
- Ability to design and implement engaging, standards-aligned lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials that support personalized learning.
- Skills in classroom management, positive behavior support, and creating inclusive, culturally responsive learning environments.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, colleagues, and community partners.
- Competence with educational technology, data analysis, and progress monitoring to inform instruction and support student growth.
- Valid North Carolina teaching license or eligibility for licensure in secondary Mathematics and/or Science; relevant endorsements preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, Science, or a related field; advanced degrees or National Board Certification are beneficial.
- Commitment to ongoing professional learning and alignment with RRGSD’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities.
