Senior Accountant
Compensation: $80,000–$85,000 base salary per year plus 5% annual bonus
Role SummaryJoin a high‑performing team to lead the day‑to‑day accounting for multi‑family operating assets. This newly created role—born out of growth—owns full‑cycle property accounting and partners closely with operations, portfolio/asset management, community leaders, and external stakeholders. Expect a sharp peer group, meaningful upward mobility, and balanced work‑life practices.
Key Responsibilities- Drive monthly full‑cycle close: journal entries, account reconciliations, A/R and A/P review, and bank reconciliations.
- Monitor cash activity; prepare funding requests and approve bill payments.
- Coordinate and ensure timely real estate tax payments.
- Collaborate with operations and third parties (partners, vendors, banking institutions) to resolve accounting matters.
- Support community managers with invoice coding and tenant ledger reconciliations when needed.
- Maintain fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules.
- Perform first‑level reviews of monthly financial packets; produce ad‑hoc reports.
- Assist with year‑end audits and tax filings; contribute to special projects.
- Bachelor’s in Accounting strongly preferred (Finance considered with robust accounting experience); solid command of GAAP and accrual accounting.
- 2+ years of accounting experience; external audit seniors encouraged to apply.
- Real estate or construction experience preferred; multi‑site/multi‑entity accounting required if industry background differs.
- Public accounting background and/or CPA credential are pluses.
- Advanced Excel/Microsoft Office skills; discretion with confidential information.
- Clear communicator with analytical problem‑solving skills and a self‑starter mindset.
