Payroll Tax Coordinator

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Tax Coordinator to join an industry leading organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing multi-state and federal tax filings, ensuring compliance with labor union requirements, and supporting audit preparation. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and file multi-state, federal withholding, SUTA, and local taxes, including approximately 30 monthly filings and 80 quarterly filings.
  • Oversee year-end filings and the issuance of W-2s.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies using Oracle EBS and federal/state databases.
  • Manage labor union monthly filings related to health and welfare and pension funds.
  • Assist in audit preparation (both internal and external) to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Complete journal entries for all tax payments related to payroll.
  • Support payroll adjustments for correcting employee tax issues.

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of experience in payroll tax filing and compliance.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field preferred, but not required.
  • Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with high accuracy in work.
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience with Oracle payroll software is preferred; ability to quickly learn new software is essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
