Payroll Specialist

This role is responsible for ensuring our employees are paid accurately and on time while supporting payroll tax compliance, employee records, and payroll reporting across the organization.

• Process weekly payroll accurately and on schedule
• Review employee time records and ensure payroll accuracy
• Maintain employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and employment changes
• Process payroll tax deposits and assist with payroll tax filings
• Reconcile payroll reports to the general ledger
• Administer wage garnishments
• Complete employment verifications
• Prepare certified payroll reports as needed
• Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing
• Generate employee payroll and statistical reports
• Provide front desk coverage as needed
• Support additional accounting and administrative projects as assigned

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of five (5) years of payroll administration experience
• Experience processing payroll taxes
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Experience using computerized payroll and accounting systems
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities

• Payroll experience within the construction industry
• Experience with certified payroll
• Construction or cost accounting experience
