Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee general accounting operations while remaining hands‑on with day‑to‑day accounting activities. This manager‑level contract role is ideal for someone comfortable leading others while also performing senior accountant‑level work, including preparing detailed accounting work papers.
- Manage the organization’s general accounting function and daily accounting operations.
- Oversee general ledger accounts, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial statement preparation.
- Prepare and review accounting schedules, supporting documentation, and work papers.
- Ensure financial records are accurate, complete, and compliant with applicable accounting standards.
- Evaluate internal accounting processes and implement improvements aligned with organizational goals.
- Establish and maintain effective internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- Research and resolve complex accounting issues and discrepancies.
- Lead, direct, and review the work of accounting team members.
- Provide financial information and recommendations to senior management.
- Perform additional accounting and reporting responsibilities as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least seven years of progressive accounting or related experience.
- Previous accounting leadership or management experience.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and accounting principles.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and review accounting work papers.
- Comfortable balancing management responsibilities with hands‑on senior‑level accounting work.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and manage multiple priorities.
- CPA designation may be required or strongly preferred.
