Corporate Controller, PE Backed

Newly created Corporate Controller role for a commercial landscaping platform, PE backed. The platform is undergoing significant growth through M&A

Seeking to hire their first Corporate Controller with strong technical accounting background, with experience scaling companies, ERP implementation, and building processes from ground-up.

Responsibilities

• Lead purchase accounting and business combinations (ASC 805): opening and closing balance sheets, purchase price allocation, goodwill
• Own revenue recognition for multi-year service contracts (ASC 606) and lease accounting (ASC 842)
• Drive ERP implementation and serve as super-user
• Manage PE sponsor reporting and the lender covenant / debt compliance calendar
• Run treasury: 13-week rolling cash flow, bank account architecture, multi-entity cash concentration
• Oversee multi-state payroll compliance (ADP) and income, sales, and property tax exposure
• Lead and improve team processes and performance in a scaling, acquisitive environment

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive accounting experience in a PE-backed, highly acquisitive environment
• CPA required; bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
• Public account background highly desired
• Strong technical accounting across ASC 805, 606, and 842
• PE sponsor reporting and confirmed bank covenant / lender compliance experience
• ERP implementation / super-user experience (Aspire, Acumatica, or Net Suite a plus)
• Multi-state payroll and multi-state tax exposure
• Field services, construction, or landscaping background preferred, not required
• Experience at a $150-300M revenue company
