As a CAAS Manager in our Healthcare line, you will be responsible for leading day-to-day client engagements related to grant compliance, financial operations, accounting advisory services, and process improvement initiatives. This role serves as the primary engagement manager, coordinating client deliverables, managing project timelines, overseeing staff and senior consultants, and ensuring quality execution of assigned work streams.
Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement Management
- Manage client relationships and serve as the primary contact for assigned engagements.
- Coordinate projects to ensure accurate, timely deliverables.
- Lead recurring status meetings, track progress, and escalate risks or resource needs.
Grant Compliance & Reporting
- Support grant compliance, reporting requirements, and audit readiness.
- Maintain grant tracking tools, reporting calendars, workplans, and award inventories.
- Monitor deadlines, deliverables, expenditures, and compliance requirements.
Accounting & Financial Operations Support
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliation and account governance engagements.
- Review financial reports, reconciliations, work papers, and supporting documentation.
- Support month-end, year-end, financial reporting, and process improvement efforts.
Project Management
- Develop project plans, timelines, milestones, and task assignments.
- Coordinate work across client and internal teams.
- Manage competing priorities and drive accountability for deadlines and action items.
Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise seniors, consultants, and staff assigned to engagements.
- Provide coaching, training, technical guidance, and performance feedback.
- Promote knowledge sharing, quality execution, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- CPA preferred.
- Experience in grant reporting and compliance.
- 5+ years of accounting, financial reporting, consulting, or related client-service experience; healthcare, grant compliance, or federal funding experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP, financial statements, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, internal controls, and accounting processes.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements, shifting priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with sound judgment.
- Strong project management, organization, follow-up, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation, client updates, and business communications.
- Experience supervising, coaching, training, and reviewing team member work.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, take initiative, anticipate next steps, and build strong relationships.
- Advanced Excel and financial reporting tool proficiency; ability to learn firm services and identify opportunities to support client needs.
