About the Opportunity – Accounting Specialist

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join their team in the Nashville, TN 37214 area. This fully onsite position offers an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with hands-on experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general accounting support. The ideal candidate will be organized, accurate, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities – Accounting Specialist
  • Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely vendor payments.
  • Manage accounts receivable activities, including invoicing and payment application.
  • Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations.
  • Assist with month-end closing procedures and journal entries.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances.
  • Prepare reports and spreadsheets for management review.
  • Support audit requests and provide necessary documentation.
  • Assist with payroll support and other accounting projects as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures.
Qualifications – Accounting Specialist
  • Minimum of 2+ years of hands-on accounting experience required.
  • Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations.
  • Strong understanding of general accounting principles.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, sorting, filtering, and data analysis.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to work fully onsite in Nashville Monday – Friday.
