Our client, a fast-growing organization, is seeking a Cost Accounting Manager to join their Accounting & Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced cost accountant looking to step into a leadership-level role without direct reports while gaining visibility across operations, manufacturing, and executive leadership.

The Cost Accounting Manager will own inventory costing processes and ensure the accuracy of inventory valuation across the organization.
Lead month-end close activities related to inventory, cost accounting, and COGS reporting.
Analyze manufacturing and operational variances, providing actionable insights to leadership.
Prepare and distribute cost accounting and financial reporting packages to support business decision-making.
Partner with Operations and Supply Chain teams to improve inventory controls and cost visibility.
Monitor inventory transactions, reserves, standard costs, and inventory reconciliations.
Drive detailed variance analysis related to labor, material, overhead, and production costs.
Identify and champion automation, efficiency, and process improvement opportunities throughout the accounting function.
Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives related to inventory and operational costs.
Assist with audits and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
5+ years of cost accounting experience within manufacturing, distribution, or inventory-intensive environments.
Strong understanding of inventory accounting, standard costing, and cost of goods sold reporting.
Experience managing month-end close responsibilities related to inventory and cost accounting.
Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze and manipulate large volumes of data.
Proven experience performing detailed variance analysis and delivering meaningful business insights.
ERP system experience required.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Process improvement mindset with a track record of enhancing efficiency and reporting accuracy.
