We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional who has gained foundational, hands-on accounting experience and is ready to continue developing their technical skills in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
The Staff Accountant will support key accounting functions, including month-end and year-end close, account reconciliations, general ledger activity, financial reporting, budgeting, and audit preparation. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of accounting principles, some practical accounting experience—which may include internships, co-ops, part-time work, or professional experience—and is eager to grow their accounting career.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Prepare and assist with financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP.
- Perform account reconciliations and research discrepancies to support accurate financial reporting.
- Assist with maintaining the general ledger and ensuring transactions are accurately and appropriately recorded.
- Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Assist with variance analysis and research to identify trends and explain financial results.
- Follow established internal controls, accounting policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Support the annual audit process by preparing audit schedules, gathering documentation, and assisting with auditor requests.
- Collaborate with Finance team members and other departments to support accurate financial reporting and business initiatives.
- Participate in special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as needed.
- Continue developing technical accounting knowledge and gradually take on greater ownership of accounting processes as experience and proficiency grow.
Qualifications
:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Some hands-on accounting experience required. Experience may include accounting internships, co-ops, part-time employment, or professional accounting experience.
- About 6 months–2 years of relevant accounting experience preferred, including qualifying internship or co-op experience.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Advanced MS Excel skills. Knowledge of Quick Books Online a plus
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Additional Information:
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and not require employment visa sponsorship.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid environment and able to commute to the office at least three days per week.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills — able to convey information clearly and professionally.
- Physical requirements:
must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods as needed for event support. - Must have reliable transportation to/from work.
Base salary starts at $60k annually,but can be higher dependent on qualifications and experience.

Hybrid based in our Nashville, TN office
