Staff Accountant (Hotel)

Compensation: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting the Hotel Controller in the accurate reporting of revenue to ensure that the information is balanced to the general ledger. They will also be responsible for reconciling and billing ledger accounts.

What you'll be doing:

• Understand and possess a working knowledge of hotel accounting processes
• Good understanding of month-end processes, reconciliations, reporting, etc.
• Review of the work of the Rooms Night Audit (and F+B, if applicable) ensuring accuracy of the information as reported. Properly allocate revenues and post to the appropriate ledger accounts.
• Perform all daily, monthly and other periodic accounting and financial reporting in an accurate and timely nature.
• Assist Hotel Controller in budget and forecasts as directed.
• Reconcile and bill all ledger accounts. Perform follow-up billing and credit collection documentation and inform Hotel Controller of any potential uncollectible accounts.
• Ensure income is properly recorded and accurate and timely.
• Have the ability to direct the efforts, quality and timeliness of all aspects of the general ledger and accounts payable.
• File and distribute credit card cancellations, bulletins and credit warnings.
• Approve or code for posting and reporting all S&P charges
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Hotel Controller

What you bring:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
• College coursework in an associated or related field and / or related experience in a Hotel or Hospitality environment
• Desire to serve others; hospitality experience / hotel experience preferred
