Senior Payroll Specialist

LHH is currently hiring a senior Payroll Tax Specialist based in Nashville. This position will ensure accurate calculations, deductions and remittance of federal, state and local taxes to adhere to compliance requirements. We are looking for payroll professionals who have experience processing multi-state payroll, payroll reporting and reconciliations.

• Ensure payroll tax compliance across multi-entity, multi-state operations, including filings, reconciliations, and adjustments
• Resolve payroll tax notices and discrepancies with federal, state, and local agencies
• Support payroll system implementations, ensuring accurate tax configuration and compliance
• Partner with internal teams to ensure accurate payroll tax reporting and issue resolution
• Conduct audits and compliance reviews, reducing risk and improving regulatory adherence
• Support entity expansions and organizational changes from a payroll tax perspective

• 4+ years of experience within multi-state, large population (1,5000+ employees) end to end processing
• Excel
  - Advanced proficiency (X,V lookups, Pivot Table, etc.)- to reconcile heavy data sets
• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
• Working knowledge of payroll compliance, laws and tax regulations/updates
• Comfortable working in a hybrid schedule (3 days in office/ 2 WFH)- office is in metro Nashville
