Senior Real Estate Accountant Job Nashville area,Tennessee USA,Accounting

Salary: $90,000-$110,000 annually, plus eligibility for a discretionary bonus

Key Responsibilities

Support period-end close, financial statement preparation, account analysis, and reconciliations
Maintain accounts receivable activity, including write-offs and cash application support
Prepare construction draw requests and reconcile project invoices against approved budgets
Monitor project costs, change orders, reallocations, and budget-to-actual variances
Calculate property tax accruals and coordinate estimates and appeals with outside consultants
Review lease activity, rent increases, tenant statements, renewals, and terminations
Lead annual CAM reconciliations and prepare operating expense estimates
Assist with annual budgeting, acquisitions, financing, lender reporting, and system initiatives
Review journal entries and reconciliations while providing backup support across the accounting team
Help document policies and improve accounting processes

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; master’s degree preferred
CPA or comparable professional certification strongly preferred
5-10 years of real estate accounting experience
CAM reconciliation experience required
Experience supporting multiple properties and tenants within a portfolio environment
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
MRI or Sage experience strongly preferred
