Our client, a growing organization in Nashville
, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join their accounting team. This position is responsible for managing the full-cycle accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate vendor payments, maintaining financial records, and supporting month-end close activities.
The ideal candidate is organized, deadline-driven, and committed to providing exceptional internal and external customer service while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Key Responsibilities- Process high-volume vendor invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Review invoices, receipts, and expense reports for proper coding and approvals.
- Match invoices to purchase orders and supporting documentation.
- Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers.
- Maintain vendor records and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Communicate with vendors regarding payment status, account inquiries, and discrepancies.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve outstanding issues.
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals and account reconciliations.
- Monitor AP aging reports and ensure timely payment of obligations.
- Support audit requests by providing documentation and reports.
- Identify opportunities to improve AP processes and efficiencies.
- Collaborate with accounting and operational teams on financial matters.
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of accounts payable experience.
- Experience working in a high-volume transaction environment.
- Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable procedures and best practices.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and reconciliations.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
