Nashville Rescue Mission is actively seeking a full-time Gifts-in-Kind Coordinator 1 to join our Operations team. The Gifts-in-Kind Coordinator 1 serves as a key member of the Mission's staff and is responsible for accepting, documenting, sorting, and securing all donations brought to the donation center and upholds the Mission Statement of Faith and Code of Conduct at all times.

Tuesday - Friday, 11:30 a.m.
- 7:00 p.m.;
Saturday, 7:00 a.m.
- 7:00 p.m.
The Gifts-in-Kinds Coordinator 1 is responsible for accepting all donations. The Coordinator also sorts, identifies, and determines distribution or storage of the gift. Proper documentation and writing receipt donations are a function of this position. Monetary gifts should be immediately delivered to the lock box for processing.
The ideal candidate for this position is responsible for directing and supervising Life Recovery Program participants or volunteers who are assisting in the department, so they will need to have an interest in training and managing others. A person who enjoys working and mentoring people is a good candidate for this job. You must be able to handle disruptions or unexpected needs and/or drop-offs when they arise for the Mission.
Sharing the love of Jesus Christ is at the heart of this position. Your job is to communicate the Gospel and model Christian character to Life Recovery Program participants and Mission guests.
Other Duties- Greets each donor and accepts each donation.
- Thanks and offers a receipt to each donor.
- Completes a receipt for every donation.
- Ensures that all monetary donations are put in the lock box.
- Examines, sorts, and determines which donations are for immediate consumption (i.e., kitchen), distribution, or storage and ensures their delivery to the appropriate location.
- Keeps unauthorized personnel out of the donation area.
- Trains all staff, program participants, and volunteers on Gifts-in-Kind policy and procedures.
- Maintains the cleanliness of the donation, loading dock, and staging area.
- Regular attendance and punctuality are essential requirements of this position.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Moderate reading and writing skills; typing/computer usage; proficient interpersonal relations and communication skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb stairs, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less; manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
