Job DescriptionPosition Overview:
The Front Desk Receptionist partners directly with families, students, visitors and staff of KIPP Nashville and is responsible for providing quality customer service at the school's front desk. The Receptionist is a key member of the school's Operations Team. The Receptionist reports to the Director of Operations at their school site.
Responsibilities of the Front Desk Receptionist include, but are not limited to:Receptionist Duties
- Act as the first point of contact for parents, students, and visitors and direct them to the appropriate place or person
- Ensure a friendly and professional demeanor to create a welcoming environment.
- Man the front office, answer phones, and manage mail and fax
- Receive and distribute messages for students and staff
- Respond to parent questions and concerns, and direct them to the Principal when appropriate
- Provide information about school schedules, policies, and events.
- Screen and track all visitors through Raptor as required by school policy.
- Support school attendance procedures ensuring accuracy
- Maintain and organize front office supplies and maintain a professional space.
- Administer first aid and medications to students according to school standards
- Distribute all deliveries and mail to the appropriate person
- Regularly update student phone lists and contact information
- Collect all student records, including immunization records, home language surveys, emergency contact forms, and media release form
- Manage collection, dispersal, security, and organization of all student cumulative record files
- Assure confidentiality of files is maintained and lock files where appropriate
- Answer parent questions and assist parents in navigating the enrollment process as needed.
- Support families with application verification and enrollment documentation
- Help facilitate and support preparations for school events, including, but not limited to, school performances, parent conferences, celebrations, and field trips.
- Carry out any additional daily school duties as decided upon by the Principal or Director of Operations
- Proficient in Google Suites, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Pass Criminal Background Check
- Prior receptionist experience (Preferred)
- Customer Service experience (Preferred)
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment (Preferred)
- Proficient in speaking, reading and writing in Spanish and/or Arabic (Highly preferred)

- To establish equitable salary practices, the compensation package is derived from the regional KIPP Nashville Public Schools pay scale and are commensurate with aligned experience. This position is non-exempt and will follow a 12-month schedule.
