Underwriting Support Administrator

Our client, a well-established financial mutual, is seeking a Underwriting Support Administrator to join their Operations team, reporting to the Operations Director. The role is responsible for collecting and processing medical and lifestyle information to generate one-off premiums for client care plans, preparing and sending quotes to Financial Advisers, processing applications, and providing ongoing administrative support for active plans.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-focused administrator from an insurance, financial services or care background who is confident handling sensitive information and enjoys varied, relationship-led work across advisers, clients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather and verify medical, lifestyle and personal information to calculate one-off care plan premiums
  • Input data into underwriting and premium calculation tools to generate accurate quotes
  • Send quotes to Financial Advisers and respond promptly to queries
  • Review completed acceptances for accuracy, following up on any outstanding information
  • Maintain accurate records for active plans, including amendments, updates and annual existence checks
  • Process death notifications sensitively, verifying documentation and updating records and payments accordingly
  • Liaise with family representatives, care providers, Financial Advisers and internal teams
  • Work closely with finance to ensure accurate billing, payments and record management
  • Act as the main administrative point of contact for Financial Advisers, clients and their families
Requirements
  • Strong administrative experience within insurance, financial services or a care setting
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Confident written and verbal communicator, able to convey information clearly to a range of audiences
  • Comfortable handling sensitive medical and financial information confidentially
  • Understanding of data protection and compliance requirements
  • Proficient with IT systems and Microsoft Office
  • Experience in underwriting administration or insurance quoting, or knowledge of care plans, is desirable

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive, fully remote team, working across a varied and genuinely meaningful role that supports members and their families at important moments.
