Logistics Category Manager, Global Manufacturer

Job Purpose

Coordinate logistics sourcing and category management for warehousing and additional logistics sub-categories to include sourcing strategies, spend management, supplier base management, and performance improvement in North America (United States, Canada, and Mexico), Will ensure lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and provide regional expertise, ensuring uninterrupted and timely supply against optimum and benchmarked costs based on business requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, own, and execute warehousing strategy and negotiations to include sourcing strategies and supplier selection.
  • Understand the warehousing needs for new leases or lease extensions for the company's business units, developing parameters for leasing solutions. Will be responsible for contract management to include contract development, approval, implementation and maintenance.
  • Lead discussions with providers on leases, warehouse labor, material handling equipment, and shuttle services to support warehouse operations.
  • Lead the negotiation of all North American warehousing agreements, optimizing the warehouse network, eliminating redundancy, and enhancing service offerings while optimizing cost productivity.
  • Benchmark current and future pricing, maintaining up to date cost models.
  • Serve as the local/regional sourcing representative to deploy applicable local/regional sourcing strategies or contribute to the global sourcing strategies definition (global SSMs). Will serve as the market expertise for forecasting and monitoring as required by budgeting/forecasting/reporting processes.
  • Translate new developments/concepts from the market into new opportunities, managing supply risk and supporting the resolution of escalated supply issues.
  • Represent the global category in regional cross‑functional forums and programs.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
  • 5 years’ experience in transportation including freight brokerage with relevant experience in supplier negotiation and management. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements.
  • Relevant experience in negotiating, contracting and managing Logistics to include transportation.
  • Proven success in driving supplier cost, quality and delivery performance improvement programs.
  • Strong understanding of fundamental analytical techniques with the ability to interpret data and draw conclusion. Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office. Advanced knowledge of transportation management systems and experience using material resourcing planning (MRP) software. Experience using sourcing optimization applications preferred.

The salary range for these skills is $ - $ based upon experience. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
