Senior Coordinator, Production Services

Position Summary

The Senior Coordinator of Production Services is part of the Student Centers department within the division of Student Affairs at Vanderbilt University and is responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, managing and supervising a team of production and audio-visual professional staff and students. The position delivers professional audio, video, and lighting production services for a diverse portfolio of Vanderbilt and external clients, including university leadership, academic and administrative units, students and student organizations, and community partners.

The position will assist in supporting over 800 events a year that range from corporate General Sessions/breakouts, lectures, and receptions to large-scale theatrical productions/showcases, and high profile university events featuring nationally and internationally recognized leaders, dignitaries, and public figures. Given the scope and visibility of these responsibilities, the position is expected to demonstrate a high level of professionalism, technical expertise, customer service, and discretion at all times.

Reporting to the Associate Director, the Senior Coordinator of Production Services serves as a key member of the production team, ensuring the successful execution of assigned events from set up through completion.

This is a full-time, non-exempt, fully benefits eligible position. Occasional weekends and night work may be required based on scheduling needs.

This position serves as the primary production services contact for student performing groups, coordinating the technical requirements, production logistics, and operational details necessary for successful events. The Senior Coordinator oversees the operation, maintenance, and reliability of installed audiovisual technologies throughout Student Centers facilities and provides technical consultation and recommendations for new AV installations and system upgrades. This position evaluates and provides feedback on AV equipment and technology deployed within department-managed spaces to promote consistency, functionality, and alignment with operational needs.

The Senior Coordinator also contributes to the development, implementation, and enforcement of policies, procedures, and standards governing the use of Student Centers facilities and audio-visual equipment.

The Senior Coordinator supervises professional and student staff, providing day-to-day leadership, coaching, and ongoing training to support staff development and ensure consistent, high-quality production services. As a member of the Student Centers leadership team and Production Services team, the Senior Coordinator supports operations, promotes effective communication and collaboration, and helps establish expectations and best practices for service delivery. The position also serves as a resource and mentor to staff, fostering technical growth, professional development, accountability, and a strong commitment to customer service.

  • Leadership and Service Space, Multicultural Community Space and additional designated spaces within Residential Colleges and academic areas.
