About

The Role

The Safety Specialist will serve as a key partner in fostering a strong safety culture at Spring Automation, supporting both company‑wide safety initiatives and on‑site project safety. In this role, you will lead safety programs, support compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and NEC standards, and ensure that our teams, contractors, and partners work in a safe environment. You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and installation teams, while also engaging directly with clients, contractors, and vendors to maintain safety and quality on job sites.

This role requires both strategic program development and hands‑on site leadership, with travel up to 30% to installation sites.

In this role, you will…
  • Develop, implement, and oversee company‑wide and site‑specific safety programs (e.g., PPE, Lockout/Tagout, Arc Flash, Fall Protection, OSHA training, Scissor Lift Training).
  • Conduct routine and follow‑up safety inspections, audits, and job hazard analyses at facilities and job sites.
  • Lead safety documentation and reporting, including incident investigations, daily/weekly reports, and trend analyses.
  • Provide on‑site leadership by conducting safety talks, maintaining postings, and ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, NEC, and customer‑specific programs (e.g., STAR).
  • Monitor equipment and lifting operations, intervene in unsafe activities, and respond to emergency situations.
  • Develop and manage safety systems such as SDS/MSDS and training platforms (e.g., LMS), while supporting continuous improvement of policies, procedures, and training.
  • Manage company and sub‑contract safety documentation compliance requirements.
  • Identify and conduct safety training sessions across Spring Automation departments including but not limited to Engineering and Project Delivery teams.
  • Maintain Spring Automation safety training records and documentation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental, Health, and Safety or related field preferred; equivalent safety experience considered.
  • 3+ years’ safety experience, ideally within construction, manufacturing, or electrical safety environments.
  • OSHA 30 certification (Construction or General Industry) required or ability to obtain within 2 months of hire.
  • Professional safety certification (e.g., CSP, CHST, OHST) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, and NEC standards.
  • Familiarity with safety reporting systems and SDS/MSDS management.
  • Familiarity with compliance tracing systems (Avetta, etc.).
  • Experience writing policies and procedures for health and safety programs.
  • Experience developing training guides (AICC, SCORM, xAPI, CMI‑5) for LMS is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate technical safety information to diverse audiences.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with AutoCAD viewer and reading blueprints is a plus.
  • Strong problem‑solving, teamwork, and communication skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Licensed or willing to obtain certification to operate scissor lifts, forklifts, or other site equipment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% for site visits, kickoffs, and incident response.

At Spring Automation, we believe in growing together and embracing challenges as a team. If you’re excited about this role but don’t check every box, we still encourage you to apply. We value innovation, teamwork, and adaptability—qualities that can’t always be captured in a job description. You might be the perfect fit!
