As a Renovation Superintendent (Nashville-Based), you will lead, direct and coordinate all field operations related to the assigned project(s) including but not limited to:
Safety, Resident Communication, Jobsite Organization, Planning and Scheduling, Project Budget Adherence, Material Management, Quality Control, and Subcontractor Oversight.

This role requires a high level of emotional intelligence, professionalism, and accountability to ensure renovation work is completed on time, within budget, and with minimal disruption to residents who remain in their homes during construction.

The Renovation Superintendent has supervisory responsibility over Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, Interns and Trade Labor assigned to his or her project(s). This role reports directly to the Renovation Project Manager or Project Executive.

Key Responsibilities Implement CBGC’s Safety Management Program
  • Create and implement the site-specific Safety Plan for each project.
  • Ensure all team members, subcontractors, and vendors comply with safety and resident-protection protocols, including OSHA, company standards, and site-specific resident requirements.
  • Communicate and remedy safety situations onsite in a timely manner as to minimize impacts on the overall project.
Lead Resident Communication & Onsite Relationships
  • Act as the primary on-site representative of Clear Blue Construction for residents, property management teams, and vendors.
  • Communicate daily work activities, unit access needs, schedules, and disruptions with clarity, respect, and empathy.
  • Build trust with residents through visibility, consistency, professionalism, and follow-through.
  • Protect the dignity, privacy, and safety of all residents and their homes.
Participate in Preconstruction Efforts
  • Create construction schedules to facilitate Preconstruction efforts and early project planning.
  • Schedules should include identification of resident-sensitive activities, critical materials, long-lead items and the critical path for successful project delivery.
  • Identify all required project materials, including quantities, specifications, and lead times, to ensure availability aligns with the project schedule.
  • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to source, order, and schedule timely delivery of all materials.
  • Provide Subcontractor and Vendor input during the Preconstruction phase.
  • Participate in Post-Bid interviews with all Subcontractors and Vendors when available.
  • Provide feedback in Subcontractor performance reviews to ensure subcontractors meet CBGC’s performance and resident-interaction standards who align with the company’s Prequalification requirements.
Lead Jobsite Supervision
  • Oversee and make decisions related to field operations, including schedule execution, trade employee staffing needs, quality control, subcontractor performance, and material deliveries; document accordingly.
  • Ensure all appropriate construction permits are in place as required to perform the work. Act as the primary point of contact between Clear Blue Construction and the AHJs.
  • Coordinate sequencing across trades to minimize resident disruption and ensure efficient use of labor. Resolve conflicts related to jobsite procedures, design clarifications, manpower, equipment, or material availability.
  • Manage the receipt, storage, tracking, and distribution of all materials on site to ensure proper handling, minimize waste, and prevent delays.
  • Ensure all work is being installed in accordance with the contract documents, specifications, and Clear Blue Construction quality standards.
  • Identify constructability issues or access issues early and communicate them to the internal team, property management team, asset management team, and design partners.
  • Develop & implement recovery strategies with the help of subcontractors and key 3 rd party vendors to maintain project schedule. Manage Subcontractor and vendor claims with support of the Project Manager, involve the President of Construction as necessary.
  • Promote operational excellence, professionalism, and the company’s cultural values on the jobsite.
