Construction Lead Hand - Nashville

We are looking for a Lead Hand who can be the go-to player coach on our residential high-rise project. You will support and oversee a small team of laborers and work closely with the Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent.

• Working with the site Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent to receive and complete tasks as required;
• Using hand tools and power tools to perform basic carpentry tasks;
• Assign tasks and train laborers as needed;
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment for you and others;
• Attending safety meetings, toolbox talks, and orientations to better understand the safety aspect of each site;
• Operating machinery to move, load and unload materials (telehandler, forklift, etc.).

The ideal candidate is a hardworking and reliable individual with strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality on-site. You have managed small teams before and are not afraid to also be on the tools. You take pride in your work, and like helping people around you.

• Physically fit and able to perform the required tasks (lifting, carrying, moving materials up to 50lbs.);
• A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle is preferred;
• Experience in a lead hand or labor foreman position within multi-family residential or large commercial construction;
• Good work ethic and attitude towards hard work and longer hours;
• A good understanding of drawings, reading plans and the ability to measure out materials accurately;
• Strong attention to detail, with a keen eye to identify issues or problems before they arise;
• Equipment management and operation is an asset including forklift, telehandler and skid-steer.
