Join our team as a Utilities Construction Inspector! In this pivotal role, you will ensure that all utility installations on interstate widening projects meet regulatory standards and project specifications. We are seeking a detail-oriented individual who is passionate about maintaining high-quality construction practices.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret roadway and structure plans, contract specifications, and schedules.
• Monitor on-site construction activities and perform inspections to ensure compliance with project plans.
• Prepare daily field reports documenting the construction progress and quality assurance.
• Meet scheduling and attendance requirements with attention to detail.
• Understand and interpret schematic drawings for accurate inspections.
• Inspect the installation of all utilities as part of the project.
• Work collaboratively with contractors to ensure successful project execution.

Education/

Experience:

• High School Diploma or a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline is preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in utilities inspection for interstate improvement projects.
• Familiarity with GDOT manuals, specifications, and protocols.
• Knowledgeable in traffic control plans, including traffic shifts, detours, and lane closures.
• Understanding of the properties and characteristics of materials used in construction.
• Valid driver's license and insurable driving record are mandatory.
• Experience with GDOT Utility Coordination procedures during construction is highly valued.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to navigate construction sites and perform field assignments effectively.
• Must be able to carry necessary instruments and equipment.
• Capability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Ability to work in variable climate conditions, including extreme heat or cold.
