Construction Superintendent
As a Construction Superintendent, you will play a pivotal role in supporting project planning by reviewing construction documents, identifying critical path items and long-lead materials, and assisting with site logistics and safety planning. You will manage day-to-day field operations, including coordinating subcontractors, sequencing work, and maintaining progress against the project schedule.
Responsibilities- Develop and adjust look-ahead schedules, identify potential delays, and implement recovery plans when needed.
- Enforce site safety requirements, conduct regular safety walkthroughs, and ensure all workers and subcontractors comply with safety standards.
- Oversee quality control by coordinating pre-installation meetings, monitoring work in place, and tracking and resolving deficiencies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily logs, photos, reports, and as-built changes.
- Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure alignment.
- Monitor risks by ensuring proper documentation, approvals, and safety plans are in place prior to work starting, and tracking delays or changes throughout the project.
- Expertise in construction, construction management, and commercial construction.
- Proficiency in construction supervision and as a Construction Superintendent.
- Experience in subcontractor management and holding an OSHA 30 certification.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of construction field experience.
- Experience managing schedules and subcontractors.
- Strong understanding of construction safety practices.
- Proficient with basic computer applications (Microsoft Project preferred).
- Valid driver's license.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working with general contractors.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse teams.
This role involves working in a dynamic construction environment where safety and quality are of utmost importance. You will be required to coordinate with subcontractors and manage various construction activities on-site, ensuring compliance with safety standards. The position demands proficiency with basic computer applications, and while Microsoft Project is preferred, a valid driver's license is essential for site visits and coordination.
JobType & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Nashville, TN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $52.00 - $64.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
