RESPONSIBILITIES:
Paving Foreman

• Successfully complete satisfactory and high-quality work on a daily basis while strictly enforcing and complying with safety policies.
• Perform asphalt paving, stone set-up, and milling operations in strict accordance with various specifications from NCDOT, SCDOT, County, City, and Commercial entities.
• Demonstrate expertise in interpreting and understanding plans and specifications, which include application rates, grades, slope, drainage, and other relevant details.
• Maintain a proven track record of completing projects under budget and within specified timelines by effectively communicating clear expectations and providing constructive feedback to crew members.
• Expertly manage all operational aspects, including material procurement, logistics, maintenance, and coordination with external service providers.
• Ensure efficient coordination and collaboration among different foremen, plants, crews, substitute workers, and vendors well in advance of starting any project or shift.
• Regularly inspect and monitor daily maintenance and housekeeping activities, while also diligently documenting and submitting pre-trip inspection reports on a daily basis.
• Be flexible and available to work on nights and weekends, as required by specific customer demands and project schedules.
• Accurately submit electronic timecards and shift production reports on a daily basis, as directed by management, providing precise quantities and cost coding details.

REQUIREMENTS:
Paving Foreman

• Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience working as a foreman in a paving-related field and can provide references to support previous work experience.
• Strongly preferred to have an in-depth knowledge of local customers, materials, and specifications, demonstrating a strong ability to work within these established frameworks.
• Present strong communication skills, including outstanding interpersonal skills that enable effective collaboration with team members or inspectors when tackling stressful situations within rapidly changing environments.
• Proven ability to demonstrate self-initiative and work without close supervisory oversight.
• Possess the necessary asphalt paving experience and are highly proficient with GPS grade and slope control equipment.
• Have basic computer skills.
• Hold a valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
