Traveling Glass Superintendent

The Glass Superintendent's primary function will be to represent Allegheny Construction Specialties ("ACS") on the jobsite by controlling and managing the installation of glass and specialties while maintaining the company's best interest. The Superintendent will be responsible for communicating all labor-related items to the General Contractor and the Project Manager on site. The Superintendent will have direct communication with ACS's Project Managers regarding schedule and material to be delivered on site and will coordinate all labor needs for their designated sites.

The Superintendent is expected to have trade specific knowledge and expertise in both glass installation and glazing. They must be able to direct and inspect glass installations.

General Superintendent

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Subcontractor relations

Maintaining good working relationships with onsite sub-contractors and General Contractor.

Maintain and coordinate daily and weekly installation schedules and plans.

Knowledge of where each upcoming project is located and ensure front end coordination and field checks are completed while maintaining the team's knowledge of site readiness and real time job progress.

Manage the expectations and commitments to and from the General Contractor.

Ensure the work being done is acceptable based on the quality standards of ACS.

Ensure that the subs have enough manpower on site to hit schedule deadlines.

Internal Coordination

Help the Project Managers understand the status of installations on their projects.

Assist the Project Manager in any material needs from the field.

Compare invoices received from subcontractors against work completed to ensure there is no overbilling.

Manage site manpower needs.

Articulate any additional support needed to aid in successful execution of job responsibilities.

On Site

Superintendents are expected to spend their time in the field and work the hours necessary to fulfill the expectations of the position. Minimum 45-hour work week.

Ensure weekly "Toolbox Talks" are performed and submitted for every active project.

Perform bi-weekly safety audits of all projects.

Travel and manage multiple projects.

Maintain consistent and timely onsite reports and reporting for both the project and ACS's internal team.

Ensure all material is inventoried upon delivery.

Maintain accurate inventory logs of the hardware/material room.

Maintain a pre-punch list.

Attend General Contractor progress meetings as required.

Provide consultation to our customers on any issues that arise.

Communicate with the project team to identify and resolve issues.

Skills and Abilities

Must be able to read blueprints and drawings

Proficient in Microsoft office suite

Education and Experience

High School Diploma Required

5 years of experience in a construction environment required

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Travel 100% of the time
