The Superintendent is a full-time, on-site role based in Nashville, TN, responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations on custom home construction projects. This role coordinates and supervises subcontractors and vendors, manages construction schedules, and ensures work is completed according to plans, specifications, and quality standards. The Superintendent monitors job site safety, conducts regular inspections, and resolves issues that arise during construction to keep projects on track.
Daily responsibilities include reviewing progress with project managers, maintaining accurate documentation and logs, communicating with clients and design teams as needed, and ensuring the site is organized, compliant, and ready for inspections.
- Experience overseeing residential construction projects, preferably custom homes, with strong knowledge of building processes, materials, and sequencing.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and building codes, and to apply them effectively on the job site.
- Proven skills in scheduling, coordinating subcontractors, and managing multiple tasks to meet deadlines and budget requirements.
- Commitment to job site safety, including familiarity with OSHA standards and best practices for risk reduction and incident reporting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients, trade partners, inspectors, and internal team members.
- Detail-oriented approach to quality control, punch lists, and final walkthroughs to ensure high standards of workmanship.
- Basic proficiency with construction management software, project tracking tools, and digital documentation.
- Prior experience as a superintendent, foreperson, or similar leadership role in residential construction; custom home experience is strongly preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to various job sites in the Nashville and Middle Tennessee area.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or construction-related coursework is a plus.
