Responsibilities
Brasfield & Gorrie has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Pipe Preconstruction Manager to assist with mechanical pipe self-perform pursuits across multiple divisions within our Heavy Civil market sectors.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):
* Estimate construction costs for below grade and/or above grade mechanical pipe scopes.
* Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for material and equipment for process piping systems and associated process equipment.
* Develop labor, material, equipment and subcontractor costs using historical data, industry trend and estimating software.
* Review plans, specifications, proposals and P&IDs to fully understand project scope, requirements and conditions.
* Solicit and review pricing for materials, equipment and specialized subcontractors
* Assist in the preparation of thorough, clearly structured, and detailed estimates and proposals for presentation to management, clients, and other stakeholders.
* Knowledge of piping systems, construction practices, and industry standards

* Bachelor degree in construction, engineering, or related field;
Or acceptable construction experience
* 3-10 years experience managing or estimating below grade and/or above grade mechanical pipe scopes.
* Experience in managing the construction or estimating construction costs for below grade and/or above grade mechanical pipe scopes.
* Knowledge of piping systems, construction practices, and industry standards
* Exceptional mathematical and analytical abilities
* Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills
* Technical writing skills
* Ability to multitask and prioritize resources
* Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
* Self-perform production knowledge
* Quantity survey experience
* Proficient knowledge of estimating software
* Experience representing company with industry and community organizations
