The Tradesmen Group LLC (TTG) is seeking an exceptionally organized and self-motivated construction SAFETY MANAGER to join our leadership team for operations and projects in Nashville, TN and throughout TTG’s entire geographic range over the eastern half of the US. Candidate must be dependable, self-directed, and capable of multi-tasking for oversight and management multiple projects concurrently. Candidate must have aminimum of 5 years of successfully supervising safety on large commercial or governmental building projects and experience prioritizing ever-changing management tasks involving coordination between TTG’s self-performing multi-trade crews, and subcontractor crews.

Experience in historic restoration is preferred but not required.

Safety Officer Responsibilities
  • Partner with TTG management & staff to achieve excellence in TTG safety operations
  • Draft and prepare all site-specific safety documents for all projects
  • Travel (plane/car) to conduct safety inspections on project sites to ensure 100% compliance with all safety standards/policies (approx. 50% short term and/or extended travel)
  • Focus on continuous improvement of best practices in safe operating procedures, policies, & incentives
  • Develop, Coordinate, & Conduct timely, relevant safety training and enforce safety protocol;
  • Participate in accident & incident reviews to determine root cause(s) and appropriate corrective actions, including Worker’s Compensation coordination.
  • Complete, manage and maintain all required documentation for TTG’s safety program.
  • Maintain accurate OSHA 300 Log and other compliance recordkeeping;
Safety Officer Requirements
  • OSHA 500 certification PLUS minimum 5 years experience in comprehensive construction project safety
  • Frequent travel by plane or car for project assignments (clean driving record)
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral & written communication skills (presentation, meeting facilitation, & training)
  • Microsoft Office 365 computer and analytical skills with experience in writing detailed technical reports
  • Ability to demonstrate a high degree of professionalism with all management, staff, & stakeholders
  • Strong ability to perform in an autonomous environment; organizing both time and tasks effectively
  • Pass drug test & background check for Dept. of Homeland Security for Tier 1 security clearance
