What You Will Do:As a Construction Materials Field Supervisor, you will oversee a dedicated team of construction materials testing professionals, managing daily operations across multiple project sites. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring project success through top‑night testing services, fostering strong client relationships, and enhancing operational efficiency. You will balance team management with personal project contributions, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency. Your leadership will be key in client coordination, managing multiple projects concurrently, and upholding the highest safety standards.
- Direction and Scheduling: Provide supervision and oversight to field staff, organize schedules with clients and contractors, and manage personnel for field assignments.
- Coordination: Frequently coordinate with Services Managers and Project Managers on the progress of current and upcoming projects.
- Training and
Certifications:
Train staff on field testing and inspections, oversee certification opportunities, and maintain a summary of current employee certifications. - Safety: Lead safety efforts for field staff, conduct regular safety meetings, and coach staff on the use of PPE and safety protocols.
- Equipment and Quality: Ensure staff have appropriate testing equipment, assist with equipment maintenance and calibration, and support the Quality Assurance Supervisor.

Qualifications:- Education: High School diploma or GED
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical engineering or a construction‑related field is a plus
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction materials testing/inspecting of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt
- Experience in a supervisory or management role
- Certifications: Active Construction Materials industry certifications such as:
American Concrete Institute (ACI):
Field Testing Grade I;
Strength Testing Technician;
Laboratory Technician and/or International Code Council (ICC):
Special Inspector (Reinforced Concrete, Masonry, Soils), a plus - Key
Competencies:- Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English language
This role involves hands‑on work in outdoor environments, and with Company‑provided Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), you’ll need to be comfortable with:
- Working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Walking over rough, uneven terrain and standing (potentially up to 12 hours a day)
- Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
- Working outside of normal business hours and traveling (typically out‑of‑town and/or overnight) as project needs arise
