OverviewWe're seeking a senior data center operations leader who has personally launched large-scale hyperscale, colocation, or mission-critical facilities and successfully guided them from construction completion through operational go-live.
This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for ensuring new data centers are fully prepared to operate before handoff to long-term operations teams. The ideal candidate understands both the construction and operations sides of the business and has experience bridging the gap between the two.
This role is focused on readiness, execution, operational preparedness, and scale.
What You'll OwnYou will lead the transition of newly built and retrofitted facilities from construction completion into fully operational data centers by overseeing:
- Operational readiness and go-live execution
- Facility turnover and acceptance processes
- Operations staffing and workforce planning
- Training programs and operational procedures
- Risk identification and mitigation
- Vendor readiness and support planning
- Commissioning acceptance and operational integration
- Executive stakeholder communication and reporting
- Lead site readiness efforts for large-scale greenfield and retrofit data center projects.
- Develop and execute operational turnover strategies from construction teams to facility operations.
- Partner with engineering, construction, commissioning, and operations leaders to ensure successful launches.
- Establish scalable readiness standards, processes, and deployment playbooks.
- Manage program performance, schedules, risks, and operational milestones.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across site deployment and operational startup activities.
- Ensure facilities are delivered safely, efficiently, and without unresolved operational risks.
- Direct ownership of multiple hyperscale or colocation data center go-lives
- Experience leading startup readiness efforts for newly constructed facilities
- Proven success managing operational turnover and transition planning
- Experience managing regional or global data center portfolios
- Oversight of large operational teams supporting mission-critical environments
- Exposure to hundreds of megawatts of critical infrastructure capacity
- Strong understanding of critical facility construction, commissioning, and turnover
- Experience partnering with construction, engineering, and operations organizations
- Ability to identify operational requirements before facility handoff
- Experience influencing senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
- Strong program ownership and organizational leadership skills
- Track record of scaling teams, processes, and operations within rapidly growing environments
