At Shames Construction, our Pre-Construction Coordinator plays an important role in identifying new commercial construction opportunities and developing relationships throughout the industry. This position serves as the bridge between potential opportunities and our internal teams, helping ensure qualified projects move into our pursuit process.
WHAT YOU’LL DO- Identify and research upcoming commercial construction opportunities throughout Tennessee and targeted growth markets.
- Build and maintain relationships with owners, developers, architects, brokers, retailers, and other industry professionals.
- Conduct outreach through phone, email, Linked In, networking events, and industry associations.
- Research project opportunities, key decision makers, procurement methods, and bid schedules.
- Gather project information and communicate qualified opportunities to executive leadership and estimating.
- Maintain an organized pipeline of prospective projects and business opportunities.
- Track opportunities, communications, and follow-up activities.
Monitor commercial construction activity, market trends, and industry developments. - Work collaboratively with executive leadership and estimating throughout the project pursuit process.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of commercial construction experience.
- Experience working for a commercial general contractor, construction manager, developer, architectural or engineering firm, or related commercial construction organization preferred.
- Strong understanding of the commercial construction process from opportunity identification through preconstruction, estimating, bidding, and project award.
- Fluent in commercial construction terminology, including RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, Invitations to Bid, estimating, procurement, schedules, budgets, and change orders.
- Ability to confidently communicate with owners, developers, architects, engineers, brokers, subcontractors, estimators, project managers, and executive leadership.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and networking skills.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional follow-up and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Procore.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently while collaborating with leadership and estimating teams.
- Experience with commercial construction preconstruction or project pursuit efforts.
- Existing relationships within the Nashville commercial construction market.
- Experience with retail, grocery, restaurant, industrial, or multi-site commercial construction projects.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS- Salary: $65,000 – $75,000 per year DOE
- Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, FSA, 401(k), Paid Time Off, and 7 paid holidays
