As a leader in the civil construction industry for Nashville, TN, we work in a complex side of the construction industry. We are searching for an experienced Estimator in Nashville to lead & direct our Paving Department.
As our Senior Paving Estimator, you will oversee, approve & present our competitive cost estimates for all paving projects we perform. Furthermore, your expertise will directly impact the company's ability to win more work and execute on those potential projects -- so we are looking for the right person to lead (and grow) our team.
Responsibilities
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Lead bid processes for public and private sector projects.
- Identify labor, materials, and time requirements by studying proposals and plans.
- Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes.
- Prepare bid packages and present final estimates to senior management.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits when necessary.
- Provide value engineering recommendations.
- Maintain historical cost data and develop estimating templates and tools.
- Mentor junior estimators and contribute to process improvements.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as an estimator in the civil (Paving) industry.
- Proven track record of estimating a range of civil projects (excavation, paving, grading, etc).
- Proficient in necessary software is preferred including Excel, Bluebeam (+ Heavy Bid, Bid-To-Win, AGTEK - preferred but not required).
- Excellent communication, client/business development and negotiation abilities.
- Sense of urgency on submitting complete bids (on time) is absolutely essential.
