As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join our team. This position is ideal for a construction professional looking to take the next step in their career while gaining hands‑on experience managing complex commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience working for a commercial general contractor or major trade subcontractor and demonstrate proficiency in the day-to-day management of commercial construction projects.

Candidates should have hands‑on experience preparing RFIs, managing submittals, reviewing drawings and specifications, tracking project budgets and costs, coordinating subcontractors, administering contracts, and utilizing industry-standard construction software including Bluebeam Revu, Plan Grid, Microsoft Project, Sage 300, and CMiC Field.

The successful candidate will actively support project planning, document control, subcontractor coordination, budgeting, cost tracking, procurement activities, and project execution. The ability to identify design conflicts, communicate effectively with project stakeholders, and proactively support project success is essential.

What You’ll Do Project Management & Document Control
  • Prepare, track, and manage RFIs, submittals, and project correspondence.
  • Review plans, specifications, contracts, and shop drawings.
  • Maintain project logs, meeting minutes, and document control systems.
  • Assist with project startup, turnover, and closeout documentation.
  • Coordinate project communications between owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and field personnel.
Cost Control & Financial Management
  • Review and monitor project budgets, job cost reports, commitments, and forecasts.
  • Support monthly project financial reporting and cost tracking.
  • Assist with owner pay applications and subcontractor payment processing.
  • Track change orders, purchase orders, and subcontract agreements.
  • Utilize Sage 300 and CMiC Field to support project accounting and reporting.
Project Coordination
  • Work closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to support project execution.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
  • Identify and help resolve design conflicts, scope gaps, and constructability issues.
  • Participate in Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings and project coordination meetings.
  • Support procurement, material tracking, and schedule management efforts.
Scheduling & Planning
  • Assist with schedule development and updates using Microsoft Project.
  • Monitor project milestones and subcontractor performance.
  • Help identify schedule risks and support recovery plans when necessary.
Quality & Safety
  • Promote a strong culture of safety and quality.
  • Participate in site visits, project meetings, and quality control initiatives.
  • Assist with punch lists and project closeout activities.
  • Support compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
