Civil Construction Surveyor
We are partnering with a growing civil construction company in Tennessee to identify an experienced Civil Construction Surveyor to join their team. This is a hands-on field position for a survey professional who understands civil construction and can confidently translate project plans into accurate field layout.
What You'll Do:
- Perform construction surveying, layout, and staking for civil projects
- Establish and verify elevations, grades, coordinates, and control points
- Review and interpret civil plans, engineering drawings, and specifications
- Utilize GPS and surveying equipment for field measurements and layout
- Verify existing site conditions and document field information
- Prepare and maintain accurate as-built documentation
- Work closely with project managers, superintendents, foremen, and field crews
- Identify discrepancies between plans and field conditions and communicate solutions
- Maintain organized survey records and field notes
What We're Looking For:
- 3+ years of experience in construction surveying, civil surveying, or construction layout
- Strong understanding of civil construction practices
- Experience with Carlson Survey or comparable surveying software
- Proficiency with GPS surveying equipment
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with field teams
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
