POSITION SUMMARY

A Major Projects Foreman at Ironsmith Fire is a front-line, boots on the ground leadership position that represents Ironsmith Fire with the highest level of integrity and professionalism while running the installations of our most complicated, high-profile projects. This individual is responsible for the daily supervision of all field team members that work on the major projects he is assigned to, training less experienced foremen and fitters, and working to deliver customers satisfaction.

The Major Projects Foreman will be responsible for meeting the schedule and budget expectations of the project. The duties for this position start from project initiation in the field and continues to final delivery.

  • Foster open and transparent communication channels within the team, promoting trust and collaboration.
  • Plan and direct the team members on projects you are overseeing daily. Turn in Daily Huddle forms ensuring your project team is aligned on daily objectives and safety mitigation.
  • Communicate project goals, expectations, and timelines clearly to field crews, ensuring alignment and accountability.
  • Recognize and enforce quality standards through daily inspection of jobsites under construction.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to minimize the risk of accidents or injuries on job sites.
  • Work closely with the EHS Manager/Specialist to investigate safety incidents and near misses thoroughly, implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences and maintain a safe working environment (be preventative rather than reactive!).
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with code enforcement officials to facilitate smooth project execution and address any compliance issues proactively.
  • Work closely with the Contract Superintendent, Operations Manager, and the Purchasing Department so they can ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to support project schedules.
  • Develop and maintain good rapport with vendors, sub-labor crews, city officials, and inspectors.
  • Oversee and manage large teams to meet project expectations, including Ironsmith Fire field team members as well as subcontract labor crews.
  • Complete each job on schedule, ensuring all contract obligations are satisfied.
  • Monitor project progress and address any deviations from the plan.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable building codes and scopes of work.
  • Provide change order scope sheets to the Operations Manager for noticeable changes to the scope of work on projects.
  • Verify all checklists are completed and inspections are scheduled and passed.
  • Execute company policies and enforce uniformity on construction methods to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Maintain construction documents (permits and inspection reports) at the job site so that all pertinent information is readily available.
  • Suggest improvements within the Ironsmith Fire system if you witness inefficiencies.
  • Address any deficiencies or non-conformities promptly to maintain project integrity.
  • Ensure all projects meet or exceed the scheduling expectations of the customer and Ironsmith Fire management.
  • Attending all jobsite meetings for the projects you are assigned to.
