Project Manager – Heavy Civil Construction – Nashville

Schedule: Full-time, on-site |
Compensation: Competitive salary (DOE) plus aggressive performance bonus plan (~$50k / year potential)

A growing heavy civil construction company is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee civil projects from concept to completion. This role requires a strong understanding of civil construction processes, including underground utilities and rock-heavy sitework challenges, along with excellent communication skills and a proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and safely.

• Attend all client and subcontractor meetings to understand project-specific requirements
• Compare budget and bid documents to check for alignment
• Develop site-specific project plans
• Inspect shop drawings, manufacturing, and installations against design intent and contract documents
• Lead subcontractors and supervision on-site
• Take responsibility for the overall project, including obtaining permits, licenses, and access
• Lead the development and planning of the overall project schedule
• Anticipate problems and take a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Understand quantity take-offs and how to evaluate cut/fill
• Lead Field Superintendents on assigned projects

• 5+ years of heavy civil experience in project management
• Ability to read and interpret grading and utility plans, specifications, and geotechnical information
• Knowledge of standard construction equipment and materials for earthwork and site utility projects
• Extensive knowledge of construction best practices, safety, equipment maintenance and use, and OSHA guidelines
• Strong aptitude in math and creative problem-solving abilities
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple personality types to lead, motivate, and teach crews while maintaining a harmonious work environment
