UE Generalist
Location: Nashville, TN (adjacent) (In-Office)
Company: Shiloh & Bros
Contact:
The RoleShiloh & Bros is looking for a versatile and proactive UE Generalist to join our in-house creative team. This is a unique opportunity for a technical artist who can bridge the gap between rapid-fire storytelling and high-end visual fidelity.
In this role, you will be a key player on our Previs and VFX team
, helping us map out ambitious sequences one day and delivering polished, final-pixel renders the next. We need someone who lives and breathes Unreal Engine—someone who knows how to "cheat" for speed when we’re in pre-production, but also knows how to dial in the lighting, materials, and sequencer for a cinematic finish.
- Previsualization: Rapidly assemble scenes, block out animations, and set up camera compositions to help the team visualize complex sequences before they go to camera.
- Final Compositing & Rendering: Take scenes from block‑out to "wow" by handling lighting, environment dressing, and post‑process effects to produce high‑quality renders.
- Solo Execution: Take a concept from start to finish independently, managing your own assets, scene organization, and output.
- Agile
Collaboration:
Pivot quickly based on creative feedback, maintaining a high level of quality even under tight production schedules. - VFX Integration: Assist the VFX team in incorporating CG elements into live‑action footage using the Unreal pipeline.
- Unreal Engine Mastery: Deep knowledge of Blueprints, Sequencer, Lumen, Nanite, and the Niagara VFX system.
- The "Generalist" Edge: You aren't just a lighting person or a modeler—you understand the full pipeline, from asset import to final export.
- Speed vs. Quality: An intuitive understanding of when to work "quick and dirty" for previs and when to spend the time on pixel‑perfect details.
- Local Presence: This is an in‑office position in the greater Nashville area. You must be able to collaborate on‑site with our production crew.
- Problem Solver: You don’t wait for a manual; you find the plugin, the workaround, or the technical solution to get the shot done.
If you’re ready to help us push the boundaries of what we can create in-house, we want to see your work. Also feel free to apply on the post and drop us a line at the email below to explain why you’d be a good fit.
