Position: Metro Parks - SW7/Rec Ctr Aide - Hamilton Creek

This position is located at the Hamilton Creek Sailboat Marina. Typical duties consist of:

  • Ensure that proper safety measures are exercised at all times.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees and assist the general public in a professional manner.
  • Assists and communicates with the designated Supervisor in any phase of the marina’s operation including maintenance issues.
  • Enforcing and effectively communicating with the general public; all rules, regulations and procedures governing the City of Nashville’s marina and clubhouse facility.
  • Administer first aid to the injured, administer Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) if necessary; calls for emergency assistance when needed.
  • Reports all incidents and accidents to the designated Supervisor and completes an accident report.
  • Deals with inquires or complaints from the public in a diplomatic and respectful manner.
  • Assists and maintains safety logs for the facility.
  • Communicating with the general public and assisting with dockage reservations for riverfront over the phone.
  • Must be able to operate the Point of Sale/cash register, computer and other related equipment
  • Communicate safety matters and report maintenance issues with the designated Supervisor.
  • Assist in cleaning the facility including restrooms and kitchen.
  • Removal and collection of trash within the building and in the park.
  • Monitor safety matters and report building maintenance issues directly with the Supervisor.
  • Assist in maintaining safety logs
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
Qualifications
  • Working k nowledge of computer and Microsoft office suite
  • Knowledge of marinas and sailboats.
  • Ability to communicate and work well with others in a professional manner.
  • Ability to handle customer complaints and issues that arise in a professional manner.
  • Must be certified in American Red Cross CPR/AED and First Aid.

Work hours vary and will include days, evenings, weekends & holidays and you must be able to work any shift. Up to 30 hours per week. Rate of pay is $18.00 per hour. Position is subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. (1 position available)
