Overview
The adjunct faculty member within the School of Physician Assistant Studies will be responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of the PA 5114 Pharmacology & Medical Therapeutics I (Spring semester - 4 credit hours) and PA 5214 Pharmacology and Medical Therapeutics II (Summer semester - 4 credit hours), ensuring alignment with program goals and accreditation standards. Additionally, the adjunct faculty member will serve as a critical team member, collectively and collaboratively supporting the mission of the PA program and Lipscomb University.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for all aspects of course delivery, assessment, and coordination of the applicable courses. Additional duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- Teaching
- Teaching: providing student instruction
- Assessment: evaluating student performance
- Remediation: assuring the availability of remedial instruction and subsequent reassessment
- Service
- Curriculum Development: designing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating the curriculum, particularly as it relates to the assigned courses.
- Other
- Engaging in other activities as assigned by the program director
- Education
- Required:
- Master s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies,
- Doctor of Medicine/Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or
- Doctor of Pharmacy
- Preferred:
- Doctor of Pharmacy
- Required:
- Experience
- Required:
- Minimum one year of documented clinical experience in the area of instruction,
- Current NCCPA certification, current Board Certification from ABMS or AOA-related specialty, if applicable, and
- Licensure, or eligibility for licensure, in the State of TN as a PA, MD, DO, or PharmD
- Preferred:
- Previous involvement in higher education (e.g., PA education)
- Board of Pharmacy Specialties certification
- Required:
- Job-Related Knowledge and Skills
- Qualified through academic preparation and/or experience to teach assigned subjects
- Knowledgeable in course content and effective in teaching assigned subjects
- Organizational skills, handling and directing multiple and complex assignments and projects
- A high degree of initiative and self-regulation
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Passion for student advocacy
- A solid commitment to the mission of the Physician Assistant program and Lipscomb University
