Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Graduate Assistant for the Belmont Office of Leadership Development (BOLD) focuses on the professional and personal development of the candidate while creating tangible results for the Division of Student Affairs. The position reports to the Associate Dean of Students, Leadership & Engagement through the Assistant Director of Leadership Development and collaborates with various offices across campus. The Graduate Assistant will work 20 hours a week from August to May and serve as a para-professional in BOLD.
Regular evaluation will be provided by the direct supervisor related to work progress and personal performance.
Position Purpose
The primary purpose of this position is for the graduate assistant (GA) to assist and support the Associate Dean of Students, Leadership & Engagement and the Assistant Director of Leadership Development in BOLD in overseeing all aspects of Belmont Office of Leadership Development programs, activities, and assessment.
Essential Functions
- Provide general administrative support to BOLD and GOLD — Graduate Opportunities in Leadership Development Programs.
- Assist with daily input, maintenance, and upkeep of co-curricular transcript data and reports within Bruin Link database and BOLD website.
- Provide student, faculty, and staff support regarding tracking campus-wide leadership development opportunities and progress within Bruin Link.
- Assist with the planning and implementation of all BOLD opportunities including training, convocation, conferences, workshops, and student mentoring.
- Assist with the creation and distribution of BOLD marketing materials, and web/graphic design (preferred but not required).
- Attend and provide timely support for the execution of evening and weekend workshops, conferences, and events.

Required Qualifications
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to respond to high-pressure situations.
- Ability to thrive in an environment of hard work. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Experience mentoring students and providing direct services and support as needed.
- Ability to plan, develop, facilitate and analyze student leadership development with a diverse group of students at both graduate and undergraduate levels.
- Excellent written and oral skills.
Required Education
Must be enrolled full-time as a graduate student at Belmont University.
Required Experience
Experience in marketing, presenting, event implementation and management to college students; experience gathering research and analyzing data. Extensive experience with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Campus Labs (Bruin Link) preferred.
