** JOB SUMMARY  Implements and delivers basic and advanced interactive, scenario-based learning programs for resuscitation techniques, skills and knowledge, course evaluations and course completion assessments under occasional guidance. Utilizes communication, adult learning concepts and technical skills to meet training program objectives as an AHA certified trainer.  Presents and directs Basic and Advanced Life Support courses, particularly America Heart Association courses in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.

Serves as AHA Training Center Faculty. Serves as a resource person, consultant and liaison to the VUMC Community..

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is seeking an articulate, energetic, and professional Instructor to deliver high‑impact Basic Life Support (BLS), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) training across our health system. This role is ideal for an experienced AHA Instructor, CPR/BLS educator, or clinical education professional passionate about preparing clinicians for critical, life‑saving scenarios.

As an instructor and Training Center Faculty member, you will use evidence‑based content, simulation, and adult learning strategies to teach resuscitation skills, conduct competency assessments, mentor instructors, and support system‑wide resuscitation initiatives.
** Key Responsibilities*
* • Teach BLS, CPR, ACLS, PALS, and related resuscitation courses following AHA and VUMC guidelines.  
• Conduct hands‑on skills assessments and cognitive evaluations to verify learner competency.  
• Apply adult learning principles, simulation techniques, and scenario‑based instruction.  
• Prepare, maintain, and troubleshoot course materials, supplies, and equipment.  
• Serve as Course Director or Lead Instructor as needed.  
• Collaborate with clinical teams on resuscitation‑related programs and quality improvement efforts.
** Qualifications
* *** Required*
* • 5 years of relevant work experience  
• Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record  
• Experience in resuscitation training, CPR/BLS instruction, or clinical education  
• Strong communication and facilitation skills
** Preferred*
* • Licensed Respiratory Therapist, Registered Nurse (RN), or Paramedic  
• Current AHA BLS Instructor certification  
• ACLS/PALS Instructor certification (or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe)
