Remainder of the 2025–2026 School Year.
Schedule:
Monday–Friday | 37.5 hours/week.
Amergis Staffing is seeking Special Education Teachers to provide high-quality instruction and support to students Kindergarten through Grade 12. Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the Special Education Teacher will deliver individualized instruction, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and support inclusive learning environments. This role requires a strong commitment to student success, teamwork, and compliance with state and federal special education regulations.
Responsibilities- Provide specialized instruction and intervention services to students with IEPs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff
- Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and progress monitoring
- Implement instructional strategies aligned with student goals
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all professional standards
- Support inclusive classroom environments and behavior plans

- Exceptional Education Teacher
- Comprehensive Exceptional Education Teacher
- Pre-K Blended Exceptional Education Teacher
- Pre-K Exceptional Education Teacher
- Required Endorsements: 144 (K–8), 145 (6–12), 460, or 461
- Comprehensive Exceptional Education Teacher;
Preferred Endorsement: 461 - (144/145 or 460 may be considered with direct experience)
- Pre-K Blended Exceptional Education Teacher:
Required Pre-K Special Education endorsement AND Pre-K General Education - (Some schools may assist with Gen Ed permit if Pre-K SPED is held)
- Pre-K Exceptional Education Teacher:
Accepted Endorsements: 461 or Pre-K
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
- Valid Tennessee Teaching License with appropriate Special Education endorsement
- Minimum of one year teaching experience (preferred)
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Compliance with professional standards of practice
- Current CPR (if applicable)
- TB screening, health certificate, and required clearances per state/contract
- Fingerprinting in the state of Tennessee is required prior to start date
