- GENERAL:
- A. Reports to Asst. Chief for Programming, Advocacy, and Outreach.
- B. Assists AC with strengthening efforts of violence prevention at Belmont University.
- C. Also assists with educational awareness, the student peer educator group, marketing/publicity, other outreach, and crime prevention programming.
- SUPERVISION:
- May periodically act as lead for student workers working particular programs, events, or activities.
- EDUCATIONAL AWARENESS:
- A. Schedule convocations, programs, and awareness campaigns throughout the school year with other departments and student organizations in conjunction with the Assistant Chief
- B. Serve as a student contact for large campus wide events such as Take Back the Night, It’s On Us, Domestic Violence awareness Month, One Billion Rising, etc.
- C. Provide student voice and support for campus Security crime prevention awareness efforts such as pedestrian safety, active shooter response, bicycle safety, self-defense, and others
- PEER EDUCATOR GROUP:
- A. Serve on the leadership team of the peer educator group S.T.A.N.D. and provide student insight to plan and execute efforts with the Assistant Chief
- B. Help train peer supporters and peer educators with educational awareness efforts such as Bystander Intervention, the Escalation workshop, Consent, Sexual Violence Prevention for Men, and other programs offered by the office of Campus Security
- C. Coordinate volunteers and members at large for all-campus events
- ADMIN DUTIES:
- A. Actively use communication, scheduling, planning, and documentation tools for programming duties
- B. Research and benchmark peer institutions in the areas of peer educator groups, assessment, bystander intervention, crime prevention, advocacy efforts, etc.
- C. Create resource library of information, videos, pamphlets, and other tools for prevention efforts
- OTHER:
- Other duties as assigned.

ADMIN DUTY KSAs: Uses Microsoft Office, Google Docs, One Drive, Group Wise, texts, emails, and social media. Also coordination of event/program scheduling, setup, breakdown, etc.; community awareness and relations; lead instruction and delegation; research, design, and implementation; program and related assessments; customer service; planning, organizing, and coordinating; time management; networking; innovation.
OTHER KSAs: A. Committee, task force, and/or other similar experience, including team projects, proficiency as chair, and convo and other program implementation.
B. Excellent communication skills in person, in writing, via telecommunications, and online -- and knowing which mode is appropriate.
C. Participate in continued professional and leadership development through opportunities on campus, external partners, and with the Assistant Chief for Programming, Advocacy, and Outreach.
Must be enrolled as a student at Belmont University. Per university policy, the student programming assistant must have a 2.5 GPA at the time of hiring, and must maintain a 2.5 GPA throughout their employment.
Required ExperiencePreferably at least 1 year of actual experience in convo and other programming. Experience with presentations, community education, and/or training. Preferably experience with inter- and intra-departmental and cross-organizational networking, partnerships, teamwork, and programming.
