Job Description & How to Apply Below

Students rarely recall every academic concept presented to them. They consistently recall the mentor who had faith in their potential. That defines this position.

At Alpha, academics are completed in only two hours daily through adaptive learning platforms. This structure allows Guides to concentrate on transformational work: developing confidence, perseverance, communication skills, and the determination to embrace difficult challenges. Your day won't involve standing at the front delivering traditional lessons. Instead, you'll coach students through obstacles, recognize achievements, and demonstrate what rigorous standards look like when combined with authentic belief in their abilities.

You'll guide one K-3 cohort band—either Kindergarten-1st grade or 2nd-3rd grade. Half your time is dedicated to facilitating dynamic, one-hour workshops focused on essential life skills such as public speaking, concentration, and receiving feedback. The remaining half involves coaching students individually and in small groups, leveraging learning analytics to ensure every child progresses toward ambitious weekly targets. Every moment of interaction carries weight.

Students should emerge from your workshops with enhanced capabilities and leave coaching sessions with expanded belief in their own potential.

This position isn't designed for someone seeking to deliver standardized curriculum or oversee a conventional classroom. It's intended for someone passionate about motivating young learners, energized by measurable progress, and convinced that the right mentor can alter a child's future. If you've inspired children as an educator, coach, camp counselor, youth mentor, or performer, a distinctly different classroom experience awaits you here.

This is a full-time, on-site position at one of Alpha's campuses. We recruit nationally, so job boards may display this opportunity in nearby cities that do not have a campus.

Current openings for this salary tier are available in Scottsdale, AZ;
Oklahoma City and Tulsa, OK;

What You Will Be Doing
  • Facilitate dynamic life-skills workshops that guide K-3 students toward mastery of communication, concentration, feedback, and other foundational skills through active engagement rather than passive instruction.
  • Provide one-on-one and small-group coaching, utilizing Coachbot analytics, established motivation frameworks, and meaningful relationships to ensure every child advances toward ambitious weekly learning targets.
  • Evaluate life-skill proficiency using Alpha's Test2

    Pass framework, continuing to coach students until they demonstrate genuine comprehension—not merely attendance.
  • Tailor your coaching approach to match the developmental stage of your cohort, incorporating songs, movement, and narrative for younger children or emphasizing greater independence and responsibility for older students.
  • Cultivate relationships where students feel sufficiently supported to push beyond their perceived limitations.
What You Won’t Be Doing
  • Delivering academic instruction from the front of a classroom. Students complete academics through adaptive software.
  • Creating curriculum from the ground up. You'll refine and customize proven playbooks rather than designing lessons independently.
  • Observing students as they work quietly on computers. Your function is active coaching, encouragement, and engagement.
  • Reducing expectations in response to student difficulty. Success emerges from supporting students to meet the standard, not adjusting the standard downward.
  • Overseeing homework, grading assignments, or handling standard parent correspondence.
