Director Of School Of Public Policy
The Director will lead the School of Public Policy in the College of Leadership and Public Service. This position will include managing the Master of Arts in Leadership and Public Service (LPS) and the Master of Public Administration (MPA) programs. Additionally, the position will supervise the Manager of Student Success.
The Director will develop partnerships and coordinate with the Community and Government Director of Leadership and Public Service to support recruitment and fundraising across the state. This position reports to the Dean of the College and will coordinate with the Associate Dean of Academics on curriculum development.
Education:
- Earned doctorate or terminal academic degree with an emphasis on at least one of the following areas: public policy, leadership, public administration, community development (Ph.D. or EdD preferred) or significant public policy experience with a desire to complete a terminal degree
Experience (preferred):
- Experience in leading organizations or experience in public service
- Experience in and evidence of building strong community/governmental partnerships, successful professional networks, and university teaching
Skills:
- Knowledge of curriculum development and pedagogy
- Excellent speaking, communication, teaching, and presentation skills
- Committed work ethic
- Passion to be a national leader in education
- Excellent interpersonal skills (including team leadership and facilitation of cooperative endeavors)
- Work effectively in a collaborative environment
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions using data
- Knowledge of adult learning theory
- Effectively present information to various internal stakeholders
- Effectively present information to various external stakeholders in local, state, and national venues.
