The Gifted Education Specialist position is a direct impact position at Project Play Therapy that plays a pivotal role in helping intellectually gifted students with Individualized Education Plans reach their fullest potential by guiding quality service delivery. In this position, you will change the game for children who are intellectually gifted by providing quality and compliance review of current IEPs, guidance on IEP development for IG students, interpretation and educational implications of assessment data for the IG student/learner, in-person and/or virtual services, participation in IEP meetings, and review of service delivery and feedback to teachers.

This position reports directly to the Lead Special Education Teacher.

Candidate Qualifications
  • Meets Gifted Education requirements per the State of Tennessee by having either the Gifted Employment Standard or the Gifted Endorsement
  • Demonstrates strong organization and communication skills, a positive attitude, and the belief that all children can reach their fullest potential with the right supports
  • Believes collaboration, innovation, fun, and a growth mindset are foundational to success
