Title

Instructor, Culinary Arts – 9/10 Month (Term) – Southeast Campus

Position Summary

This is a full-time faculty position responsible for preparing and delivering quality instruction on topics in Culinary Arts.

Essential Job Functions/Job Duties And Responsibilities
  • Perform job duties from the assigned campus/instructional site/work location.
  • Teach courses on-ground at the assigned campus/instructional site/work location. Other instructional delivery modes, such as online, hybrid or web-enhanced, taught from the assigned campus/instructional site/work location, may be assigned based on operational needs, as determined by the College.
  • Within a minimum workweek of 37.5 hours, faculty are expected to teach a minimum of 15 hours and hold office hours.
  • Work with course leads and/or program coordinators to ensure consistent student experiences.
  • Utilize the College’s learning management system to provide course materials to students.
  • Submit updated course syllabi prior to the first day of class.
  • Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the registrar.
  • Provide academic advising to students with an emphasis on retention and success.
  • Remain current in the teaching area(s) through appropriate professional development activities.
  • Regularly check College email and departmental mailbox.
  • Respond to emails/messages within 24 hours except on weekends.
  • Complete all required reports such as student engagement, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions.
  • Administer and return surveys and student outcome assessments by the required deadlines.
  • Engage in departmental institutional effectiveness activities. Actively participates on divisional and institutional committees. Collaborate in building and maintaining relationships within and beyond the institution. Comply with all college and T  policies and guidelines.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts or a closely related field
  • Three years’ experience in culinary arts field
Preferred Qualifications
  • Industry certification in Culinary Arts
  • College-level teaching experience
  • Ability to teach a wide range of culinary courses from introductory to advanced
Knowledge,

Skills And Abilities
  • Knowledge of and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a wide range of faculty, staff and student population. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Demonstrated understanding of the community college mission and needs of student populations.
