As the Director of Little Schoolhouse
, you’ll have the unique opportunity to help design and launch a new program from the ground up. We’re seeking an experienced, forward-thinking leader ready to leave their mark in East Nashville. In this role, you’ll shape a warm, engaging, and high-quality learning environment for young children while guiding a dedicated team of educators. Your leadership will ensure excellence in early education and care, foster professional growth among staff, and build strong partnerships with families and the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the daily operations of the center, maintaining full compliance with licensing regulations and quality standards.
  • Design and implement developmentally appropriate educational programs that nurture the whole child.
  • Inspire, coach, and support teachers to continually improve their classroom practices and professional skills.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with parents, caregivers, and the broader community.
  • Oversee administrative duties, including budgeting, enrollment, staffing, and scheduling.
  • Evaluate and enhance program quality through regular assessments and feedback.
  • Coordinate and facilitate ongoing professional training and development opportunities for staff.
Required Qualifications
  • 5-10+ years of leadership or administrative experience in an early childhood or educational setting.
  • Solid foundation in education or related fields, ideally with teaching or curriculum design experience.
  • Proven ability to connect with children and families in meaningful, positive ways.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially in family engagement.
Preferred Qualifications
  • In-depth knowledge of early childhood development and educational best practices.
  • Familiarity with Montessori and/or Reggio philosophies and the ability to integrate similar methods into our program.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
