Position type: Part‑time (approximately 10 hours per week to start; potential for increased hours)

onsite instruction in Franklin, TN plus remote administrative work

Role summary

We’re seeking a reliable, student‑centered ESL Instructor who can also manage light administrative duties. This role combines in‑person teaching (small groups and one‑on‑one) with remote tasks such as scheduling, record keeping, and basic communications. Ideal candidates are organized, flexible, and experienced teaching English to non‑native speakers.

Key responsibilities
  • In‑person instruction (primary): Plan and deliver engaging ESL lessons for adults; assess student progress; adapt materials for mixed‑level groups.
  • Remote administrative support: Maintain student records; manage class schedules and attendance; respond to student inquiries via email; prepare and upload lesson materials to our virtual classroom.
  • Program support: Assist with curriculum development, conduct student assessments, and track student progress.
  • Collaboration: Attend weekly staff check‑ins (virtual) and coordinate with clients on curriculum and student placement.
Qualifications
  • Required: Proven ESL teaching experience; proficiency in both English and Spanish; strong spoken and written English; reliable transportation; ability to pass background check.
  • Preferred: Experience with adult education; familiarity with Teams, Google Workspace, and basic Microsoft Office platforms.
  • Skills: Excellent classroom management; strong organizational skills; professional email and phone communication; comfortable with light data entry.
Schedule and compensation
  • Hours: ~10 hours per week; schedule includes fixed onsite teaching blocks (Thursday and Friday / 8am - 10am) plus flexible remote hours for admin tasks.
  • Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on experience.
  • Other: Occasional paid professional development opportunities; mileage reimbursement for travel between sites when applicable.
